A pod is your own place on the web: your thoughts, notes and files live in it, not with us and not with any app store. Here is how to get one, and our pod apps, on whatever you use.

Get Chromium
Chromium is the free, open browser that Chrome is built from. Our pod apps go into it as extensions. Ungoogled Chromium is the same browser with Google’s parts taken out.
Already have Chrome, Edge, Brave or Vivaldi? They take our pod apps too.
On a Mac, the first time: Apple stops apps it has not checked. Right-click Chromium, choose Open, then Open again.
Add our pod apps
PodPad
Plain text notes, written on your phone and kept in your pod. The first line of a note is its name. Hold a note to rename or delete it.

- Unzip the download. You get a folder called PodPad.
- In Chromium, go to the address chrome://extensions
- Switch on Developer mode (top right).
- Press Load unpacked and choose the PodPad folder.
- Press the jigsaw piece next to the address bar and pin PodPad. Click it and sign in with your pod’s email and password.
Keep the folder where it is: Chromium runs PodPad from it. PodPad tells you when a new version is ready.
In Firefox: press Get it for Firefox, then Add when Firefox asks. Firefox keeps it up to date from here.
On an iPhone or iPad
Apple lets no other browser engine onto iPhones and iPads, and allows apps only through its own store, where it takes up to 30%. So Chromium and our pod apps cannot go on an iPhone, and we will not pay Apple to get there.
Unlint still works fully in Safari. Make your pod here, then tap Share and Add to Home Screen: Unlint opens from its own icon, like an app.
On Android
Get Unlint Apps. It installs our apps, PodPad among them, and keeps them up to date.
